The 'shiny forehead' is a very common, and often unexpected, side effect of botox. Here's why it happens: Your forehead muscles are paralyzed, so you aren't making those micro-expressions that cause the skin to crease and fold. Additionally, without muscle movement, the natural oils (sebum) are not being pushed around as much, so they sit on the surface and create a reflection. Also, the skin is stretched smooth, so light bounces off it uniformly. To fix it: Use a mattifying powder or blotting papers. You can also use a very light dusting of translucent powder. In skincare, switch to a gel-based moisturizer instead of an oil-based one. The shininess usually decreases as the botox wears off (by month 3). Some people love the 'glass skin' look, but if you hate it, ask for a lower dose next time so you retain a tiny bit of movement.
